Charlotte Scott-Wilson is an award-winning Scottish screenwriter and director of Myanmar heritage, known for crafting bold, emotionally resonant stories with a strong cinematic voice. Her film HOLD ON, which won Best Narrative Short at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, is now streaming on Disney+, showcasing her ability to create compelling, character-driven narratives that captivate audiences worldwide.
Charlotte is a screenwriter who seamlessly blends genre storytelling with themes that matter. Whether exploring female leadership and ambition, the complexities of male friendship, or crafting a musical about retired rockstars and the fragility of life, she delivers stories that entertain while leaving a lasting impact. Her recent play, MOVING MOUNTAINS, was hailed as one of the best shows in the Netherlands and became a festival sensation, further proving her talent for engaging storytelling.
Her music videos have amassed millions of views on YouTube, and her commercial for the Ministry of Justice won Best Single Use of Video at the London RAD Awards.
With a background as a producer, story editor, and director’s assistant, Charlotte has honed a sharp storytelling instinct and a deep understanding of both drama and comedy. Her experience in these roles laid a strong foundation for her screenwriting and directorial work, giving her a deep understanding of the production process and the resilience needed to navigate the complexities of filmmaking. This foundation allows her to lead a creative team to create dynamic, genre-driven stories that resonate with a broad audience while staying true to her passion for meaningful, thought-provoking narratives.
Currently, she is developing a television series, directing commercials and theater productions, and working on a feature film with Fable Pictures UK (known for WILD ROSE and MR. LOVERMAN). She is always up for grabbing a coffee to get to know you.
